Fly Tying with Veteran's at the Vet Center in Bend on Friday's PDF Print E-mail

With feathers flying and thread doing the 'whirlingdurbish' Central Oregon Project Healing Waters had their second fly tying class.  It was held at the Vet Center in Bend - many thanks to Greg Ford for the room and great support.

We have covered the Wooly Bugger (last week) and this week we did a Gold Ribbed Hares Ear and a Pheasant Tail. These we are using for the basic skill of fly tying along with tying a proven fish getting fly.

We had a "first fly tied" by a couple vets and they did really well, mastering (semi) the dubbing and wing cases but mainly having a good time with good people and dreaming of getting out fishing.

We are planning on continuing fly tying classes every Friday at the Vet Center at 1300 til whenever Greg kicks us out.  For more information call Brad Emery at 541-536-5799.
